Two die in collision

pune: two people died in an accident, including the driver of a jeep when his vehicle collided with a tempo coming from the opposite direction on the dehu road-katraj by-pass near balewadi on wednesday morning. according to the chattushrungi police, seven people from various villages in satara district who work in mumbai, hired a jeep to go to satara.around 6 a.m., outside the balewadi stadium gate, the jeep collided head-on with a tempo driven by nagnath jadhav (30) of bhugaon mulshi. jadhav was trying to overtake another vehicle and collided with the jeep in the process. one of the jeep's passengers, arun shinde (40), died on the spot and the driver of the jeep ganesh deodharkar (19) died later at sassoon hospital. three passengers who were seriously injured, ramesh jadhav (21), santosh jadhav (21) and shekhar pawar chinchwali, have been admitted to sassoon hospital. the other four passengers were discharged after treatment. the chattushrungi police are investigating the case.
