crime branch on Monday recovered the body of a 20-year-old youth from inside a pipe near Ghotawade village in Mulshi taluka.
The youth, Swpanil Sutar, had been missing from Varale village near Talegaon since June 6. Police have arrested three youths from Talegaon and detained their minor accomplice for their alleged involvement in the murder.
A probe revealed that suspects Sahil Shinde (19), Saurabh Khedekar (18), Amit Sathe (19) had bludgeoned Sutar to death at Takve village in Maval Taluka following a rivalry and then dumped the body in Mulshi. Assistant inspector Satish Kamble said that on June 6 the suspects invited Sutar to consume liquor. They then told Sutar that they would show him a spot near Takve where he can go with his female friends. "As soon as Sutar reached there, Shinde and the minor bludgeoned him to death," he said.
