Three killed in separate road accidents

A 40-year-old woman pillion rider died on the spot when a Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Bus Limited (PMPML) bus dashed the two-wheeler she and her husband were riding.

PUNE: Three people, including a woman, were killed in separate mishaps at Chinchwad, Katraj and Warje on Monday.
A 40-year-old woman pillion rider died on the spot when a Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Bus Limited (PMPML) bus dashed the two-wheeler she and her husband were riding. The incident took place on the Katraj-Kondhwa road on Monday at around 10 pm.

The Bharati Vidyapeeth police have identified the deceased as Ujjwala Bharat Pawar (40) of Anandnagar, Katraj-Kondhwa road. Her husband Bharat (45) sustained severe injuries in the mishap. The Bharati Vidyapeeth police have arrested the driver Jaydeep Chandrakant Salunke (25), a resident of Bhor, for negligent and rash driving. Assistant inspector S S Kale is investigating the case.
In a hit-and-run case, Ajit Appasaheb Desai (58), a resident of Kothrud, was run over by a truck near Hotel Ketan on the Mumbai- Bangalore highway in Warje on Monday at around 6.35 pm. The police have register an offence at the Warje police station. Sub-inspector N R Jagtap is investigating the case.
In the second incident, which took place in Chinchwad at around 8 pm, motorcyclist Bajrang Vitthal Kale (43), a resident of Thergaon, was killed when an truck hit his vehicle near SKF company. The Chinchwad police have booked the driver, Mahadev Zumbar Waghmare (30) of Tathwade, Haveli, for negligent and rash driving. Sub-inspector S B Jadhav is investigating the case.
