Teen steals pal’s phone worth ₹45,000

Pune: A college student (19) was arrested by the Pimpri police on Wednesday on the charge of robbing her friend’s smartphone worth Rs 45,000 outside a restaurant during a meet.The complainant (21) is a resident of Pimple Saudagar and also a college student. “They knew each other for a few days,” Deepak Domb, assistant police inspector of Pimpri Police, said.According to the complainant, the suspect messaged him on social media and told him to meet her at a restaurant on Tuesday afternoon. “She asked him to give her his smartphone and threatened to beat him up if he refused to give it,” Domb said. “ While the complainant was talking to her, she forcibly took his smartphone and fled,” the officer said. “We arrested the girl on Wednesday and are in the process of recovering the smartphone,” Domb added.
