Teen biker crashes into van, dies

Pune: A 19-year-old motorcyclist died and his friend sustained severe injuries after their scooter collided with a van late on Tuesday night. The incident took place at Bhose village on the Chakan-Shikrapur Road.The Chakan police have identified the deceased as Prasad Survase. The victim's friend, Yogesh Jadhav, sustained severe injuries in the accident. An officer said, “The accident happened when the duo was on their way to celebrate their friend's birthday, which was near Chakan.”The Chakan police have arrested the van driver. He was arrested under sections 304-A (causing death by negligence), 279 (rash driving), 337, 338(causing grievous hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others) of the Indian Penal Code.
