Pune: A patented technology to stop carbon emissions during steel production in joint collaboration by Vikarsh Nanotechnology and Research and the head of the research and development department of College of Engineering (CoEP) Technological University received an award in New Delhi.
It won top honours 'Elecrama 2023' from education reformer and innovator Sonam Wangchuk.
A statement issued by Vikarsh Nanotechnology, said more than 1,000 companies participated. A special platform was provided for 12 startups. Three were awarded Rs 5 lakh each.
The patented research and production of the ‘counter-current reactor’ was done by Narendra Doke, head of the research and development department of CoEP Technological University.
Sameer Shinde, MD of Vikarsh Nanotechnology, said, “India has agreed to stop carbon emissions by 2050. The technology to make carbon-free steel with help from our Shirwal project has been going on for five years.”
