Talent search scholarships awarded

The results of the inter-state talent search and excellence examination for std VIII, IX and X were announced recently. The exam was conducted by the Centre for talent search and excellence (CTSE), Nowrosjee Wadia College in Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka and Gujarat states.

PUNE: The results of the inter-state talent search and excellence examination for std VIII, IX and X were announced recently. The exam was conducted by the Centre for talent search and excellence (CTSE), Nowrosjee Wadia College in Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka and Gujarat states. Total 9,652 students have been awarded scholarships worth Rs 1.07 lakh.

The examination was conducted in 682 centres across the four states on April 21.
From Pune, Samvid Kurlekar of std IX from Jnana Prabodhini Prashala secured 205 marks and stood first in the urban category while Anand Naik from Abhinav Vidyalaya English Medium School secured 194 marks in the same category and stood fourth. In the std X scholarship exam, Chaitanya Tappu from Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan's Sulochana Natu Vidyamandir secured 197 marks to achieve fifth rank in the urban section.
The names of the students who have been awarded the scholarship have been uploaded on the website: www.mtsexam.org. For std VIII, 1,416 students were awarded scholarships, for std IX, 1,060 and for std X, 824 students have been awarded scholarships. The scholarships have been awarded in two categories, namely -- state (1,325) and district (1,790) while cash prizes have been given in three categories namely -- taluka (1,877), special mention (1,360) and consolation (3,300). The exam was conducted under the guidance of M N Andarm secretary of CTSE.
