Student robbed of cash, chain near BMCC

Two unidentified men attacked a 17-year-old student with a brick and then robbed him of cash and gold chain worth Rs 20,800 on Canal Road near Brihan Maharashtra College of Commerce (BMCC) around 10.30pm on Sunday.

PUNE: Two unidentified men attacked a 17-year-old student with a brick and then robbed him of cash and gold chain worth Rs 20,800 on Canal Road near Brihan Maharashtra College of Commerce (BMCC) around 10.30pm on Sunday.
A complaint has been lodged by Nikhil Shantaram Randil (17) from Akluj in Solapur district with the Deccan Gymkhana police station.

Nikhil is presently staying in a hostel in Deccan area, police said.
Ramesh More, assistant inspector of the Deccan Gymkhana police station said the robbery took place when Nikhil was walking towards his hostel near BMCC. “Two unidentified men blocked his way and asked him to give them his valuables. When Nikhil resisted, the suspects hit him with a brick and snatched Rs 1,800 in cash and a gold chain before fleeing,” More said.
More said Nikhil had sustained minor injuries in the attack. “We have launched a search for the suspects,” he added.
