PUNE: A two-day international conference was organised jointly by Dr D Y Patil Institute of Management Studies (DDYPIMS), emphasising the need for entrepreneurs to demonstrate initiative in sectors like clean energy, green energy, and renewable energy on March 7 and 8.

Pro-Vice Chancellor of Savitribai Phule Pune University, Parag Kalkar, stated that considering environmental changes, it was imperative to pursue initiatives in waste management and energy generation from waste in cities like Pune, with its population exceeding ten million.


The conference was conducted in collaboration with Dr D Y Patil Institute of Masters of Computer Application and Management.

Kalkar said, "There is a necessity for emerging entrepreneurs to advance sustainable development as conventional energy sources diminish. Considering environmental changes, it is imperative to pursue initiatives in waste management and energy generation from waste in cities like Pune, with its population exceeding ten million. The aquatic ecosystem faces peril due to chemical pollutants in rivers, presenting opportunities for entrepreneurial intervention."

During the inauguration, Shweta Chavan-Patil, Managing Director of Quality Assurance at DDYPIMS, Rear Admiral Amit Vikram, Director of D Y Patil Educational Complex, and Lalit Prasad, Acting Director of DYPIMS, among others, were present.
