SPPU gets top honours in health sciences, agriculture at Anveshan-2025
Pune: Students of colleges affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University(SPPU) secured multiple awards at the International Student Research Convention, Anveshan–2025, held recently. In the health sciences & allied subjects category, Siddhi Joshi and Tanisha Kasbe from AISSMS College of Pharmacy won the first prize and Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Gold Medal, along with a cash award of Rs 75,000, for their project titled, "PROHEAL – an innovative, multifunctional probiotic based dressing system for diabetic wounds." In the agriculture science & allied fields category, Shivam Devkar of Sanjivani College of Engineering, Kopargaon, secured the third prize and a cash award of Rs 25,000 for his project, "High-Performance Multipurpose Mulching Paper Laying Machine."
Deokar's mulching paper laying machine is a cost-effective farm implement that performs four key agricultural tasks—bed preparation, drip pipe laying, fertiliser feeding, and mulching sheet placement. The machine also reduces labour, time, and per-acre costs.Siddhi Joshi and Tanisha Kasbe's probiotic-based dressing system is an advanced wound-care solution designed especially for diabetic foot injuries is a two-layer dressing which absorbs wound discharge efficiently while delivering medication directly to the wound, promoting faster and more effective healing."The college has set a new record by winning this competition three times in the past six years along with awards at second and third position," said Rahul Padalkar, AISSMS College of Pharmacy Anveshan, an initiative by the Association of Indian Universities, aims to identify and nurture the research aptitude of students in higher educational institutes. Director, internal quality assurance cell (IQAC) at SPPU Vinayak Joshi's statement to the media said, "This success showcases the effectiveness of our quality-driven research mentoring framework. The students' dedication, coupled with strong faculty guidance, has resulted in globally competitive research outcomes. We are proud of their excellence and commitment."
