PIMPRI CHINCHWAD: The Pimpri
Chinchwad
Smart City Limited will develop a multi-facility
sports centre
at Pimple Gurav, a polyclinic at
Pimple Saudagar
, and a village plaza at Pimple Gurav through the public-private partnership model.
The sports centre will be spread across 4.31 acres, while the polyclinic will occupy about half an acre at Katepuram chowk. The village plaza will be deveopled over nearly 2 acres. The agencies would have to submit suggestions and recommendations for the project for a period of 30 years, PCMC joint director Nilkanth Poman said. The agencies would be required to make a detailed presentation and also carry out a public consultation.
The polyclinic is envisaged as a facility that will address all functions performed by a primary health care centre. The land for the village plaza is located adjacent to the Rajmata Jijau garden. The plan is to redevelop the existing bus terminus and provide a distinct experience with a mix of street food, farmers’ market on weekends, high street retail stores, and a shopping mall.
