Speeding car knocks down three morning walkers

PUNE: Suhasini Kulkarni (53), a resident of Manikbaug and a regular morning walker, will now think twice before going out for a walk after a horrifying mishap on Friday when a speeding car hit her and two others after dashing against three vehicles near Rajaram bridge on Sinhagad Road.

(50), too has been admitted to a hospital. The Sinhagad Road police have arrested the car driver, Ashok Dey (22), of Dongri Pada, Thane, on charges of rash driving.

Milkmen rush to their help

Kulkarni said a few milkmen, who were at the nearby chowk, rushed to the accident spot. “They first alerted the police and then rushed the three of us to a nearby hospital,” she added. The doctors at the hospital refused to admit Deshpande as she was severely injured.
