Salil Ankola’s former wife hangs herself

PUNE: Former cricketer Salil Ankola’s first wife Parineeta, 46, allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling fan at her parents’ residence in Salisbury Park in Pune on Sunday. Inspector Dipak Nikam of the Swargate police station said Parineeta was living with her parents and two children in Pune for the last four years. Nikam said a suicide note was recovered from the house. “The note mentions that nobody should be held responsible for the suicide. She said her parents had loved her a lot and she wanted to commit suicide as she was fed up of life,” he said.Just this year, Ankola had remarried after his split from Parineeta. He had been in rehab twice for alcoholism and depression before his second marriage.
