PUNE: Ryan Pinto, the CEO of Ryan Group, recently received the Samson Daniel Award 2018 from the former President,
Pranab Mukherjee, at an award ceremony in New Delhi, organized by HelpAge India.
The award was presented to Ryan International Group of Institutions for its contribution towards elderly people on the occasion of International Day of Older Persons.
Mukherjee in his address recognized the endeavours of the group’s schools across India, under the leadership of the chairman, A F Pinto, and the managing director, Grace Pinto.
Speaking about receiving this honour, Ryan Pinto, said, “The Ryan Group has always given utmost importance to inculcate values of respect, charity and kindness among the students right from a young age to nurture responsible and compassionate citizens of the future. We are thankful to our students and their parents for their continual support.”
Loyola annual day function
Loyola High School and Junior College recently held its two-day annual day function based on the theme ‘We are the world’. The school’s former student, Deepak Ranade, was the chief guest on the first day. He was accompanied by Medha Ranade. The principal, Fr Nelton Thomas, extended a warm welcome to the guets.
The students from Standard I to XI showcased their talents in song, dance, dramatics and skits. Fr Arjein Teta, S.J was the chief guest on the second day. The school’s achievers were felicitated in the prize distribution ceremony.
HDFC students’ projects
The HDFC School, Pune, recently celebrated the week of interdisciplinary projects where students showcased their creativity, talent and knowledge about the subjects allotted to them.
Each grade was allotted a different topic to work on, which included ‘Our diverse country’, ‘Solar system’ and ‘Land, soil and natural vegetation’ among others. The students presented 3D working models, collages and colourful charts. A competition of the project exhibits followed. The principal, Amruta Prabhu, and the judges applauded the students.
