"The suspects had weapons and overpowered security guard Bhimsingh Bhika. They gagged him and tied his hands and legs with a nylon rope," said Kamble.
"The suspects then opened the shutter, broke the safe with a weapon and stole Rs 40,000, gold and silver coins (weighing one gram each) and around 20 wrist watches. The coins and watches had been brought to the shop to be handed over to its distributors," Kamble stated.
Another security guard Padam Bahadur who reported for duty at the shop, freed Bhika and told Jamtani.
"Bhika has not been able to give a proper description to the police," said Kamble. "The police have dispatched several teams to trace the suspects."
Jamtani has registered a theft case against four unknown persons under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.
