PUNE: Zilla parishad schools in Pune district will have to follow weekly teaching plans which will be monitored through the Vinoba Bhave application developed by the education office.
As many as 7,800 teachers in Pune district are using the app which will also be used for social networking for teachers and work as a platform to promote peer learning and best practices sharing between teachers.
Pune zilla parishad launched Acharya Vinoba Bhave Shikshak Sayak Karyakram to support, engage and motivate teachers.
Shobha Khandare, senior official at District Institute of Education and Training, Pune, said, "The bridge course has been completed by students after offline classes started. Now, we are concentrating on classroom exercises and to organise the academics and let teachers plan the year, we have created an organiser for them which will be standard-wise, subject-wise, expertise-wise to ensure that every teacher benefits."
DIET, Pune is the nodal agency for academic and resource support to over 7,000 schools and over 30,000 teachers in the district. On the app, every standard will have a weekly plan that the teachers need to follow in their routine.
The teachers must also update their teaching activities on Vinoba App. Every week, the app will have a new plan.
The app has registered and verified teachers and management representatives across 2,500 schools and over 7,800 teachers. The aim is to create a friendly platform for teacher network.
Khandare said, "The app facilitates two-way information flow between the administrators and the teachers and creates a network for teachers who can easily share work, learn and appreciate each other's work, while building their portfolios. We strive to implement the NEP to create 21st century educators. They are recognised for their contributions through monthly, quarterly, and yearly programmes at various levels."
