PUNE: A woman and her son, out on an evening walk, were critically injured after they were hit by a speeding car near a housing society at Wanowrie around 9pm on May 24.
Kamal Sanap and her son, Jayesh, are recuperating in a private hospital.
Their relative, Meena Sanap (36) from Kedarinagar, lodged an FIR with the Wanowrie police on Tuesday.
Assistant inspector Bhagwan Kamble from the Wanowrie police said that the mother and son were out on an evening walk and had reached the main gate of the Utopia Housing Society from Wanowrie circle when a speeding car lost control and hit them from behind.
“The victims suffered injuries on their heads. The car driver sped away without informing the police about the accident,” the assistant inspector added.
“We are working on some clues to nab the car driver. Our probe is on,” he said.
