PUNE: A five-year-old boy was killed after being struck by a car inside a residential society in Loni Kalbhor, Pune, on Monday evening.
CCTV footage from the society shows the moments leading up to the accident.
The incident occurred around 3.30pm while the child was playing with his bicycle within the Joy Nest Society premises.
According to police, the car’s driver, a resident of Mundhwa Road, had entered the society to drop a friend in front of a building.
The vehicle hit the boy, who was rushed to a nearby private hospital and pronounced dead on arrival.
The boy’s father, 40, has filed a complaint alleging rash and negligent driving leading to death.
Footage from the society’s surveillance system, now circulating on social media, shows the child riding his bicycle unaware of the oncoming car.
