212) or the crime branch office on 26121685/26122202 (ext. 295) Pyarelal Sharma (42), a financial officer with a private company, was returning from a bank in the Pune Cantonment area around 2.30 pm on March 31, when two men on a motorcycle shot him in the back and chest before fleeing with his bag containing Rs 5 lakh. Sharma is recuperating at a private hospital.<br /><br />The robbers first shot Sharma in the back. However, when Sharma resisted, they fired another shot in his chest.<br /><br />Displaying courage, a wounded Sharma called up his boss over his cell phone. He was later taken to the hospital by people who had gathered at the scene.<br /><br />The police have recovered a cough syrup, a few soft drink bottles and some clothes, believed to belong to the assailants.
