According to the police, after the dacoity at Sahakarnagar, the gang had robbed another house in Khilari taluka in Latur district.
PUNE: Crime branch sleuths have nabbed two members of a gang of robbers that had burgled gold and cash, amounting to Rs 10.8 lakh, from two houses on Wednesday. Eight people had entered Bhalchandra Mahadev Chine's house in Sahakarnagar early on Wednesday morning, threatened him, his mother and aunt with sharp weapons and stolen gold ornaments and cash worth Rs 80,000.
Chine had lodged a complaint at the Dattawadi police station. Crime branch assistant commissioner Sangramsinh Nishandar received a tip-off that the dacoits hail from Osmanabad and a team under anti-dacoity squad inspector Sunil Pawar was sent to Osmanabad to investigate. The dacoits were identified as Kalidas Pawar, Tanaji Pawar, Vijay Shinde, Vikram Pawar, Pintu alias Jalinder Uddhav Mali, Sachin Shinde and Umesh Ban.
Pawar traced Ban in Osmanabad and arrested him on Thursday. The police seized currency notes from him which matched the numbers of the notes stolen from Chine. Pawar then informed the city police that another gang member, Sachin Shinde, lives in Pune. Shinde was arrested on Friday from the Pune railway station. The police seized Rs 3,000, a car and a mobile handset worth Rs 2.04 lakh from him. According to the police, after the dacoity at Sahakarnagar, the gang robbed another house in Khilari taluka in Latur district. They had taken valuables worth Rs 10 lakh from there. The police is in lookout for rest of the gang members.
