Pedestrian injured in hit-&-run dies

Pune: A tailor, Marutirao Butake (56), on Saturday night succumbed to injuries he had suffered in a hit-and-run accident involving a motorcycle around 7pm on May 23.
The bike had hit Butake when he was crossing the Karve Road in front of the Kothrud bus stand, said sub-inspector Ganesh Chavan of Alankar police. He was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Kothrud.
Butake’s son, Lakhan (33), lodged a complaint with the police on Monday.Sub-inspector Chavan said, “We did not find any eyewitness to the accident, but CCTV footage revealed that a motorcyclist hit the victim before driving away from the spotWe are trying to ascertain the registration number of the motorcycle,” Chavan said.
