PUNE: The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) will not extend the terms of its four honorary advisors — Ajay Suryavanshi (law), N.V. Kulkarni (building and construction), Vishwas Jape (build-operate and transfer cell) and K.H. Shrotri (power).
A decision to this effect was taken at a civic standing committee meeting on Tuesday, presided over by committee chairperson Surekha Londhe.
The civic body had appointment these consultants a few years ago with a view to seeking expert opinion on its various projects. Their contracts expire in the next few months.
Ironically, another advisor and former commissioner of the PCMC, Ravindra Surve, has been excluded from the decision. Surve, who is a consultant to the child and woman welfare committee of the civic body, has been given a six-month extension.
The civic body has given no reasons for the discrimination.
