The new building of the Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial Hospital (YCMH) will host the 50-seat nursing college. YCMH dean Rajendra Wabale told TOI that the new college can cater to 200 nursing staffers.

"We had sent a proposal earlier last year as well. However, then the state had several queries, so we sent a revised one. Considering that approval is required from many agencies, we are anticipating that the college could start functioning from next academic year," Wabale said.

The college will offer a four years BSc Nursing course, he added.

Activist Maruti Bhapkar said, "YCMH holds a special place for the patients from Pimpri Chinchwad and nearby villages, as it provides affordable medical care. More nursing staff will surely help in ease the burden on those already working here.
