PCMC floats tenders for Rs 1.86 crore project to repair old Harris Bridge

: Civic authorities have invited bids for the repair and rehabilitation of Harris Bridge in

Dapodi

. The project is estimated to cost Rs 186 crore and will take one year to complete.


The work involves the dismantling of the scaffolding, removal of weeds, plants and polyceramic cementious grout, protection of the old masonry structure, cleaning and surface preparation, protective coating, slabs, anti-crash barrier, painting the barrier, and mastic and bituminous work.


The appointed agency will have to carry out the works as per the norms of the Indian Road Congress and the ministry of road transport and highways.

“Interested parties must visit and examine the site of the work and its surroundings, which will help them prepare the bid. At least 10% of the tests for all the works must be performed in a third-party laboratory approved by the municipal corporation (SGS India Pvt Ltd). The work under this contract would be taken up with the help of the

project management

consultant and, anagement,” the document stated.

Furthermore, the contractor must prepare a traffic diversion plan and get it approved by the engineer and the traffic police, officials said.
