NCP on Wednesday threatened a statewide agitation if the government resolution (GR) to fill up some posts on a contract basis is not withdrawn in the next fortnight.
NCP workers lead by Karjat-Jamkhed MLA Rohit Pawar observed a token hunger strike at Mahatma Phule wada. Several MPSC aspirants also participated. “Devendra Fadnavis had questioned the sincerity of MPSC aspirants.
He can now see that despite Ganeshotsav, these students have joined the hunger strike,” Pawar said.
On deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar's statement that the GR was issued by the MVA government, Pawar said, “The GR was issued in 2014 to fill up vacant posts only for the labour department. It was Fadnavis’s government which expanded the GR’s scope. Ajit Dada changed sides and his stance now is very disappointing.”
Pawar claimed that the candidates hired on contract will get poor salaries and most of it will go to the contractors. If the GR is not withdrawn, we will carry out agitation in every district after October 15,” he said.
