Over 100 students participate in leadership conference

Pune: As many as 100 students of Class IX and X from 17 schools across the city participated in the third edition of “Student Leadership Conference -2019”, which was organized by the Kalmadi Shamarao High School recently. The conference was aimed at developing leadership, teamwork and communication skills among the participating students.

The inaugural ceremony was attended by Anand Godse, associate professor, School of Vedic Sciences, MIT-ADT University; Pooja Bhale, director, Protecterra Ecological Foundation; and Chikita Purav, project manager, Jocata Software.

SPM hosts elocution competition

SPM Secondary School hosted the Marcus Cato interschool elocution competition for the 20th year recently. Loyola High School and Junior College won the trophy for the best team. Shaan Madan from Loyola was awarded the trophy for best speaker, followed by Arya Nagraj from Sardar Dastur Hormazdiar High School. The third prize was bagged by Melano Binay from Loyola HIgh School. Vedant Rawat of SPM was awarded the consolation prize. The event was organized under the guidance of principal Veena Meshram. The programme was sponsored by Ruta Kulkarni, president-elect of All India Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

PPS, Hadapsar, holds history meet

A History and Civics Cell Meet, “Historia”, was recently organized by the Pawar Public School, Hadapsar, for ICSE schools of Pune. Over 45 teachers from nearly 20 schools participated in the meet. The head of the department, Reema Bhattacharjee, conducted the meet.
