Pune: The Faraskhana police arrested Harish Ramchandra Wadhwa of Hadapsar on Sunday night on the charge of attempting to cheat a garment shop owner, Prince Pravin Solanki (21), of Ganesh Peth earlieron the same day.
Solanki sustained injuries on his legs after Wadhwa, who was riding the motorcycle, dragged him for about 30 metres. Sub-inspector Raju Pawar of the Faraskhana police said, “Around 1pm, Solanki went to the shop and bought undergarments worth Rs17,885 from him. Wadhwa, however, claimed that he was cashless and asked Solanki to accompany him to an ATM kiosk.”
“Wadhwa took the bag of undergarments and drove the motorcycle to an ATM in Raviwar Peth. Solanki was about to alight from the motorcycle in front of the ATM kiosk, when Wadhwa accelerated the vehicle. Solanki grabbed the rear bar of the motorcycle. Wadhwa then dragged Solanki for about 30 metres before halting,” added Pawar.
