PIMPRI CHINCHWAD: Residents of Park Royale Cooperative Housing Society in Rahatani have written to the civic body urging it to include the EV discount in their property tax bills of 2023-24.

The residents said that they will hold off paying the tax till the civic body includes a 5% discount in their bills.

"The 5% discount for common EV infrastructure has not been applied yet. We have been following up for the past month," the letter sent to the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) read.

They also requested a waiver off the user charge as they are a zero-waste society and does not rely on the civic body for segregation, collection and processing of waste.

"The EV discount has not been given to any user so far, since the number of applications are negligible," Nilesh Deshmukh, head of the PCMC tax department, said.

On the user charges, he said, it is for the health department to decide.
