Pune: Aesthetic clinics and beauty establishments in the city are witnessing a remarkable surge in bookings, fuelled by citizens enthusiastically embracing the ‘New Year, New Me' philosophy as the calendar flips to 2025.
A wide range of treatments have garnered remarkable attention — right from hair botox and keratin procedures to advanced dental aesthetics.
Beauty establishments have reported a significant increase in enquiries for transformation packages, with clients readily investing upwards of Rs2,000 for various services. Premium treatments, particularly smile correction procedures, anti-ageing solutions and specialised hair treatments are notably popular.
Dr Zara Dadi, medical cosmetologist and aesthetician, said, "Client demands are seeing a shift from obvious makeovers to subtle changes — and this will be the trend in 2025. People are looking for treatments tailored for them, using components of their own blood to regenerate skin or salmon DNA treatment — which is a skin rejuvenation procedure which involves using salmon DNA to promote cell regeneration and healing of the facial skin."
Highlighting the growing trend of preventative care, Dadi said, "Using anti-ageing skincare at home starts at the age of 28, while cosmetic treatments with biostimulators and such start from the age of 35 now. The idea behind this is to delay ageing as much as possible because once the signs set in, you can't reverse it without heavy cosmetic surgery."
The innovative NAD+ treatment has also gained significant traction. "The NAD+ trend started on TikTok and gained momentum in Beverly Hills, before picking up in New York. The demand for the treatment is increasing in several cities in India now," Dadi said, whilst emphasising the importance of professional consultation before any invasive procedures.
In the nail art sector, artist Nikita Soni speaks of unprecedented interest. "The craze for nail art is at an all-time high all over India. People want customised nail art for any function they attend — be it a baby shower where they want clip art such as pacifiers and babies or weddings where they want themed artwork or even for daily life for which they want artwork depending on their mood or the current fad."
Soni said clients willingly invest Rs80 per nail for basic artwork, with prices increasing for more intricate designs. She said animal prints will dominate 2025's trends, following the popularity of nature-themed designs featuring flowers and leaves.
The transformation trend extends to dental aesthetics. Dr Kaushik Moghe said there is an increased demand for smile enhancement procedures. "It's all about the perfect smile for that selfie. Smile correction procedures range from Rs5,000 upwards and involve a mix of treatments that are not unique to individuals. Some require teeth filing, while others may require alignment correction. We also see more walk-ins for teeth whitening treatments today."
In hair care, people are trying to get to the root of their problems, quite literally. Hair expert Nandini Bose said, "Clients are paying more attention to their scalp as we witness a higher demand for scalp treatments. With increasing stress resulting in hair fall and hair thinning problems, people want to target the issue at the source. Also, there is demand for hair extensions ranging in different lengths and colours more than ever."
