PUNE: Marathi and Hindi speaking people will come together at the Marathi literary meet to be held in Ghuman in
Punjab, said working president of the Maharashtra Sahitya Parishad Madhavi Vaidya.
Speaking at a lecture series in the temple town of Dehu, Vaidya said a bridge will be built between Marathi and Hindi languages during the literary meet. The lecture series, organized by the Ramkrishna More foundation, was inaugurated by Sadanand More.
Vaidya said that on the occasion of Marathi literary meet, it will be for the first time that Marathi speaking people in
Maharashtra will go into a Hindi land. Invariably a bridge will be built between the two languages. The conflict between languages and religions should be wiped out with this effort, she said.
Litterateur Uttam Kamble who spoke on the topic of globalization said people in the country take time for understanding a new concept and the new world. People will have to necessarily use English in the new world. The late Ramkrishna More had taken a revolutionary decision to introduce English from standard one, he said. Among others who were present on the occasion included president of the Shri Sant Tukaram Maharaj foundation Ramdas Maharaj, and president of the Ramkrishna More foundation Dattatray Atre.
