Pune: Krida Prabodhini (KP) defeated GST & Customs, Pune, (GSTC) 4-2 to lift the Babasaheb Ambedkar hockey trophy at the Major Dhyanchand Stadium in Nehrunagar, Pimpri, on Sunday.
Aniket Gurav (4th) scored early to put GSTC in lead before KP hit back through Mayur Dhanavade’s (8th) penalty corner. After the break,
Sagar Shingade (35th) converted a penalty corner to help KP go up 2-1.
Two goals in a span of two minutes — Venkatesh Kenche (45th) and Sachin Rajgade (46th) — put the result beyond doubt.
Harish Shingdi’s 53rd minute strike was too late too little for GSTC.

The girls’ final was a more straightforward affair as Dhanashree Pawar tamed Nabha Kirkole 11-8, 11-7, 11-5, 11-6 for her second title of the season. Bhargav Chakradev and Archan Apte took the men’s doubles title with a 9-11, 11-8, 11-7, 11-5 win over Deepesh Abhyankar and Shounak Sanpurkar.
