Pune: The school principal and management of Kline Memorial School in Bibvewadi on Wednesday said that the parents who had entered the school campus and argued with the lady administrator and security guard had not paid the school fees for three years and the bouncers were appointed on the school premises for protection of their women staff.
The parents had filed a complaint on Saturday saying that the school authorities refused to give any acknowledgement of the fee waiver application submitted to them and the principal had refused to meet them.
Parents in the complaint have alleged that the bouncers had manhandled them when they went to meet the principal on Saturday.
Chairman of the school, Praveen Paul and principal, Sunanda Singh, who addressed the news conference on Wednesday and stated that the school was a private unaided minority institution as per the Constitution Article 30 (1) and as per the laws the school had the right to establish and administer as per their choice.
Paul said, “When the incident took place, a regular parent-teacher meeting was organised for Std VIII and at the same time some parents of Std IX entered the campus. They were not invited to the meeting. The particular parent who argued with the lady school administrator and the security guard had defaulted paying the school fees for three years to the tune of Rs 5 lakh.”
