Savita Damodar Paranjpe
’ is based on a critically acclaimed play by the same name. The film will be directed by
Swapna Waghmare
, and the star cast includes Subodh Bhave,
Rakesh Bapat and Trupti Toradmal.
This play ‘Savita Damodar Paranjpe’ is a psychological thriller where a professor’s wife displays sudden strange behavior, almost unable to hide her lust and desire for intimate relations. During these outbursts, she calls herself Savita Damodar Paranjpe. The play is one of the first of its kind and portrays the effects of multiple personality disorder.
It is said that this was based on a real incident when a man was found murdered, and the autopsy revealed his heart slit from within. This man had betrayed a girl in love, leading her to end her life.
John Abraham made his debut as a producer with the National Award-winning film Vicky Donor in 2012. His other Bollywood productions include Madras Cafe, Rocky Handsome and the sequel to Force 2.
