Happy Streets returns to Kothrud amid merriment

Pune: The DP Road in the Kothrud area turned into a funfair on Sunday morning with people coming large numbers to enjoy the Happy Streets event.
The stretch of road located between Ashish Garden Chowk and Suraj Nagar was converted into a no-vehicle zone from 6.30am to 9.30 am. The public walked, danced, played and cycled, to their hearts' content.
Happy Streets is an initiative by The Times of India and Maharashtra Times in collaboration with Pune Municipal Corporation and sponsored by Kolte Patil. It is free of cost to the attendees.
Yogita Patil, a homemaker, was there with her husband and daughter. "I loved the stage with a live ban. I like the fact that from senior citizens to people of my age to children, there is something for everyone," Patil said.
Vishal Choudhari came from Warje to Happy Streets with his four-year-old daughter. "I participated in a guided meditation session. The dance, music, the meditation and yoga happens simultaneously so that no one gets disturbed by the other," he said.
