PUNE: The Blue Ridge Public School (BRPS) recently organized a group reading contest on the occasion of National Reading Day to reinstate the value of reading among students.


Around 80 participants in 26 groups participated in the contest, which was held via a webinar. It had two categories— Group A was for students and Group B for parents and teachers and their families.

of BRPS and Surinder Kaur Sayan, supervisor of the secondary section at BRPS. The jury included Bharati Iyer, retired principal from Indian Education Society in Mumbai, Bhavana Unkule, retired viceprincipal of SES High School and Junior College in Thane and

Sarika Kshirsagar

, a corporate soft skills trainer.

The webinar was hosted by Smita Kshirsagar, principal, BRPS along with the coordinator of the event, Pallavi Dhamdhere, senior librarian with the technical support extended by Kavita Hegde, coordinator (class IX) and IT head.

One of the winners of Group B category said, “The brilliant idea of conducting a virtual online reading competition brought a lot of excitement and thrill in my family as we decided to participate and read out a story of our choice together as one family.”

Acharya Shree Vijay Vallabh School recently held an educational summit on “Change in Education-the need of the hour”.

The webinar was held under guidance of chairman Subhash Parmar. Educational advisor

, former education officer Prakash Parab and Milind Naik, principal of Jnana Prabodhini Prashala, participated. Manasi Marulkar, principal of Acharya Shree Vijay Vallabh School moderated the discussions. Experts shared views on methodologies to improve effectiveness of virtual teaching .
