The book was released by Sahitya Akademi award winner Namita Gokhale. It is an English storybook about friendship between a human and an animal.

Mungali read out a portion for a group of enthusiastic students. She dedicated her book to her grandchildren and the children she has taught over the years, who, she said were her inspiration.

The Sanskriti awards for outstanding achievements were also instituted to honour eight outstanding personalities. They included Jehangir HC Jehangir for healthcare, Namita Gokhale for literature, Siddharth Shirole for governance, Ranjit Disale for education, Kamla Idgunji for education, Mandar Phanse for journalism, Samrat Phadnis for journalism, and Priyesha Deshmukh for sports. They were given away by Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari.

Attending the event, he praised the school for felicitating the achievers and setting an example for others. He shared his childhood memories, emphasising that there was nothing more virtuous than love for one's mother and country, and dedicated his achievements to his mother. The governor said that being in the company of inspiring people and children is his greatest accomplishment.

Students of the school presented a self-composed song in honour of the guests, followed by the National Anthem.
