Gondan award conferred on Dr Mandakini and Dr Prakash Amte

Pune: The Auto-Immune Blistering Disease Foundation (AIBDF) conferred the inaugural 'AIBDF Gondan Award' to social workers Dr Mandakini and Dr Prakash Amte. At a ceremony held in the city recently, Praveen Joshi facilitated an interactive dialogue with the couple. The gathering was attended by numerous luminaries including former Indian Ambassador Gautam Bambawale, AIBDF Founder Trustee Ashokkumar Suratwala, among others.Amte reflected on his experiences with leprosy patients, beginning with just six individuals and reaching to 6,000. His father, Baba Amte, instilled dignity in these patients. This inspiration led them to Hemalkasa, where Mandakini supported their endeavour.Dr Sharad Mutalik detailed AIBDF's commitment to auto-immune blistering disease awareness and patient support. Initiated in 2021, inspired by Ashokkumar Suratwala and commemorating late Jayashree Suratwala, the foundation strives to enhance medical treatment accessibility and affordability.
