has launched three challenging

Himalayan

expeditions; namely

Mt. Kun

(7077 m), Mt. Nun (7135 m) and Mt. CB 13 (6264 m) in the month of July 2017. Flag off programme for the three expeditions took place at the hands of renowned Film and theatre writer and director

This year Giripremi has planned

expedition

Mt. Kun (7077 m) which will be led by Giripremi’s Everester Rupesh Khopade, Mt. Nun (7135 m) under the leadership of Subhash Takaleand Mt. CB 13 (6264 m) led by Vivek Shivade.

Chief guest of the programme, Kiran yadnyopavit in his speech highlighted how Giripremi and the sport mountaineering both, have been playing an instrumental role not only in developing mountaineers but also great citizens by enabling them to have mountainous goals, dream big and take countless efforts to chase those visionary goals. He expressed his warm wishes and blessings to the team members for the expeditions and guided them about the art of mountaineering filming and writing.

While speaking in depth about the expeditions, Giripremi’s 8000der expedition’s leader Umesh Zirpe mentioned that, this is the first time three big expeditions are taking place simultaneously; two of them are 7000ders and all three are technically challenging. All experienced mountaineers have participated in these expeditions and they have trained for these goals for past 8-9 months.

Along with renowned Film & theatre writer and director Kiran Yadnyopavit; the programme was graced by dignitaries, Bank of Maharashtra General Manager, Nandakumar Pujari, Senior History researcher and writer Sadashiv Shivade, Giripremi President Anand Palande, Giripremi Co-founder Ushaprabha Page and Shivchhatrapati Awardee and Leader of Giripremi`s 8000der expeditions, Umesh Zirpe.

Mt. Kun (7077 m) and Mt. Nun (7135 m) - Both these massifs are situated in Jammu & Kashmir’s Suru valley, just 50 kms away from Kargil and are separated from each other by a 4 km long platue. From the summit of both these mountains, one can get a clear view of 8000der mountains located in POK region.

Mt. Kun expedition team: Rupesh Khopade (leader), Kiran Salastekar, Dinesh Kotkar, Yugank Kadam and Sumit Mhandale.

Mt. Nun expedition team: Subhash Takale and Jitendra Gaware

Mt. CB 13 (6264 m) : Mt. CB 13 is the tallest peak in Chandrabhaga range of Lahaul Spiti region in Himachal Pradesh. In all there are 56 peaks in the valleys of Chandra and Bhagarivers. Crossing the roaring streams, crevasses and negotiating the rock gullies are some of the major challenges of this expedition.
