Gang of robbers held

The Bhosari MIDC police recently arrested a gang of five men, who had robbed employees of a private company of their valuables worth Rs 18,000.

PUNE: The Bhosari MIDC police recently arrested a gang of five men, who had robbed employees of a private company of their valuables worth Rs 18,000.
The incident had happened on Telco Road in Bhosari recently. Shrivardhan Madhukar Tare (26) of Dighi has lodged the complaint with Bhosari MIDC police station. On the night of July 14, Tare and other employees of the company were travelling in the company bus, when a gang of seven men stopped the bus at Bhosari.

They pelted stones and smashed the windscreen of the bus, the police said.
The police said that the suspects barged into the bus and thrashed the driver. They snatched four cell phones, cash and a wrist watch all collectively worth Rs 18,000 from the employees and fled from the scene, police said.
During the investigations, sub-inspector of the Bhosari MIDC police station F Y S Solapure and police constable Kiran Katakar has received a tip-off that the suspects involved in robbery were from Balajinagar slums in Bhosari. “We raided the slums and arrested Amol Gaikwad (19), Satish Kurhade (21), Prashant Palewar (21), Akash Shirsath (20) and Atish Kale (22) all from Balajinagar,” said senior inspector of the Bhosari MIDC police station Bhimrao Shingade.
The police have recovered the booty worth Rs 18,000 from the gang. Their two accomplices are still on the run, Shingade added.
