PUNE: Students of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), who have won laurels at the National Awards in the last three years, will be felicitated by Saeed Mirza, chairman of the institute, at a special function organised on September 26 at the institute's main theatre.
The students, whose diploma films were honoured at the 57th and 58th editions of the National Award and at the 9th Pune International Film Festival held in January, include Arunima Sharma (direction) and Murli G (cinematography) for 'Shyam, Raat, Seher,' Pratik Vats (direction) for 'Kal 15 August Dukan Band Rahegi,' Radhika Murthy (direction) for 'Motorbike,' Tathagata Singha (direction) for 'Ekti Kaktaliyo Golpo,' Kaushal Oza (direction) for 'Vaishnav Jan Toh...' Deepu S Unni (cinematography) for 'Gaarud.' and Lipika Singh Darai (sound) for 'Gaarud.'
The students, in their second and third year at the institute, have tackled a variety of subjects in these short films - from relationships to adventure to youth-related issues.
The films showcase the students' ability to put their training to use as per professional specifications.
