FTII student’s film wins at Mumbai fest
Pune: A film by a student of the Film and Television Institute of India won the Pramod Pati Special Jury Award for most innovative/experimental film at the recent Mumbai International Film Festival (MIFF).
Payal Kapadia, a direction student from FTII’s 2012 batch, won the award for her film “And What Is The Summer Saying”.
FTII director Bhupendra Kainthola received the award on Kapadia’s behalf from the festival’s chairman Shaji Karun. Governor Bhagat Singh Koshiyari was also present at the award ceremony with the state cultural affairs minister Amit Deshmukh.
Educational visit for cops
As many as 125 officers of the city police went to the FTII’s Law College Road campus for an educational visit on Tuesday.
The team, led by police commissioner K Venkatesham and joint commissioner Ravindra Shiswe, included additional commissioners, deputy commissioners, among others.
The officers were given a tour of the campus and briefed about its landmarks and its history. A movie was also screened for them at the campus theatre.
