police on Friday registered a case of assault and criminal force to deter public servant from discharging duty against five men for creating ruckus on the police station premises around 2am on Friday.

According to the police, the five men had come to the police station to register an FIR of assault against a few others from their locality in

. Sub-inspector Swapnil Patil of the Kondhwa police, who is probing the case, said, “The police personnel present there asked the suspects to sit and wait because they were discussing the matter with the other group of men.”

He said, “This enraged the five men and they started hurling abuses at the policemen. The officers requested them to maintain peace. But the five men continued to abuse the policemen and did not allow them to work or register their complaint. They created a ruckus in the police station and did not allow the police authorities to carry out their legal duties.”
