Famed FTII alumni to pay tribute to Hrishida

Over the weekend,
Renowned actor Jaya Bachchan, MP and FTII alumna, who acted in some of Hrishida’s landmark films, will be the chief guest at the closing ceremony on October 1. Bachchan will introduce her debut film Guddi, directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee.
Smarananjali is FTII's way of remembering the departed icons of Indian cinema. In April, we remembered legendary cinematographer V K Murthy. Now, the institute’s editing department has taken the initiative to reveal the best-known and lesser-known aspects of Hrishida’s life and work as an editor and filmmaker, recounted by those who were closely associated with him,” says Bhupendra Kainthola, FTII director.
Besides Guddi, Satyakaam and Chupke Chupke, which will be screened during the two-day event, the audience will also get to watch Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s other memorable films --- Anand, Golmal, Mili and Namak Haram.
Entry to the event and all the film screenings are not chargeable and open to the general public.
