Pune: The Chandannagar police are investigating a complaint by a 39-year-old property manager of a city-based construction firm accusing a former corporator from Pimpri Chinchwad of duping the firm of Rs15 crore in the transaction of a 57 guntha land at Charholi Budruk in Wadgaonsheri.
The company had appointed the former corporator as a principal agent for sale and purchase of the land on its behalf.
The complainant stated that between February 5, 2019, and May 22 this year, the principal agent disposed of the land to two buyers without the realty firm’s knowledge and consent.
Senior inspector Rajendra Landge told TOI on Saturday, “We conducted a preliminary inquiry and then registered an FIR for cheating, misappropriation and criminal breach of trust. Documents relating to the land in question were registered with the sub-registrar office in Chandan- nagar. No arrest has been made so far.”
The firm’s proprietor told TOI, “We wanted to mortgage the land to a bank, but when we obtained a 7/12 extract of the property, we realized that our principal agent had sold it to two buyers. The registered documents showed that the land was sold for Rs 5 crore, but its actual cost is Rs 15 crore.” The ex-corporator did not respond to repeated calls made by TOI to seek his version in the matter.
