Eight quantum tech startups from IISER Pune hub get DST support
Pune: Eight startups in quantum technologies will get support from the department of space and technology under the and National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems.The selection followed a call for proposals in Aug 2024 by I-Hub Quantum Technology Foundation. hosts the technology innovation hub under National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems to onboard startups focused on developing quantum technologies.Sunil Nair, faculty member in the physics department of IISER Pune and project director of I-Hub Quantum Technology Foundation, said, "In Aug2024, the I-Hub Quantum Technologies Foundation hosted at IISER Pune called for proposals from startups in quantum technology. Eight of them were selected for funding."The startups selected include Bengaluru-based QuNu Labs Private Limited which aims to develop an end-to-end quantum safe heterogeneous network, and QpiAI India Pvt Ltd, which plans to create a full-stack quantum computer using superconducting qubits. Dimira Technologies Pvt Ltd from IIT Bombay which focuses on the indigenous development of cryogenic radio frequency cables for and other applications.PrenishQ Pvt Ltd incubated at IIT Delhi proposes to develop and commercially deploy high-precision diode laser systems for quantum technology applications. QuPrayog Pvt Ltd from IISER Pune, plans to develop titanium sapphire lasers for quantum technologies and optical frequency combs for ultra precise measurements.Ahmedabad-based Pristine Diamonds Private Limited is innovating advanced diamond materials with nitrogen-vacancy centres for quantum sensing applications.
