Diego to play Gunners for title

Pune: Diego Juniors ‘A’ will take on Gunners FA in the Super-First Division final of the inaugral Aspire Cup football tournament at the Hedgewar ground, Pimpri, on Sunday. Durga SA will take on City FC Pune for the 2nd-3rd Division title.Diego fought off Indrayani SC 1-0 with Shubham Mahapadi (24th) beating the off-side trap to score the lone goal. The event will be played in open and 40-above categories and will be played in knockout format. All games will kickoff in the evening and under floodlights.The open category winning team will get a trophy and a cheque of Rs.51,000, the runner-up Rs.31,000 and a trophy. The 40+ category (Veterans) winners will get trophy and Rs.21,000, the runner-up will be get Rs.11,000 and a trophy, the organisers said in a press release.
