DFA Mumbai enter CMS Cup semifinals

Pune: DFA Mumbai edged Gorkha FC Nanded out via penalty shootout to enter the semifinals of at the CMS Champions Cup state-level football tournament organized by Chinchwad Malayalee Samajam and CMS Falcons Club in Nigdi on Thursday. After a goalless first half (35 mins), the game came to life in the second as both teams scored late. Asad Sayyed for DFA and Abdalla Ali for Gorkha FC scored to level the tie 1-1 at full time. In the resulting tie breaker, it was DFA who kept their cool to progress to the last four.On Wednesday evening, Amar FC prevailed 3-0 over Milan Boys Beed in a second-round clash which saw the latter receive three red cards in the second half for violent conduct. CMS Falcons A and JJ United failed to find the net in regulation time.
