Delegation of Sena MPs meets Naidu

PUNE: A delegation of Shiv Sena MPs met Venkaiah Naidu, union minister of information and broadcasting(I and B) in New Delhi and demanded that the operations of news department in Pune station of All India Radio(AIR) be restored. The delegation comprised Shiv Sena MPs Anand Adsul, Anil Desai, Shrirang Barne, Sanjay Raut, Vinayak Raut, Arvind Sawant and Sanjay Vichare.
A statement issued by Barne said that the information and broadcasting ministry posts of officers of various centres of AIR have been transferred to other centres.

The post of deputy director, Pune news department has been shifted to Kolkatta and post of news editor, Pune has been transferred to Srinagar. Pune is a major city of Maharashtra and its population is more than 1 crore. Citizens listen to the news bulletins, songs based programmes, discussions on various subjects and various programmes throughout the day. These citizens have been agitated due to the news that the Pune news station of AIR will be closed.
