Criminal found murdered

PUNE: A criminal on police record was allegedly bludgeoned to death by some unidentified persons near Ravet river at Dehu Road in the wee hours of Thursday.
The police have identified the deceased as Javed Ali Shaikh (20) of Vetalnagar slums in Chinchwad. Shaikh's uncle Mohammed Shaikh said in a complaint that he suspected that suspected that three persons may have abducted the victim on Wednesday night before murdering him.
The police said Shaikh had previous enmity with the three persons in Vetalnagar slums. He had two cases of theft registered against him.
Gang of thieves arrested: The Shivajinagar police on Tuesday arrested a gang involved in stealing luggage at the Shivajinagar ST stand and railway station. The police have identified the arrested as Altaf Khan (20) and Raju Kale (20), Aslam Khan (22), and Prashant Jadhav (19). of Kharadi. Sub-inspector R J Karape is investigating the case.
