Cops recover four firearms, arrest four
Pune: Police recovered four firearms from Wakad, Pimpri and Sinhagad Road in the past two days and arrested four persons. On Thursday, police constable Javed Pathan attached to the Pimpri police station, received a tip-off that a person would be coming to Pimpri market to sell a country-made revolver. "We laid a trap and nabbed the suspect Prakash Rathod (21) of Khadki. We have seized the revolver and and three cartridges from his possession," Vivek Mugalikar, senior inspector of the Pimpri police station, said. The anti-extortion cell of the Pune crime branch, led by senior inspector Anil Patil, nabbed two criminals on police records in Wakad and recovered two country-made pistols and two cartridges from them. The arrested suspects were Sanotsh Khalse (27) of Thergaon and Sandesh Chopade (28) of Kalewadi, Patil said. The Sinhagad Road police too recovered a country-made pistol and two cartridges from Avinash Shinde (22) in Vadgaon. Jagtap had brought the firearm from Madhya Pradesh to sell it in Pune.
